What CDA is about- a summary of its history, important concepts and its developments  The text starts stablishing what is critical linguistics and critical discourse analysis, that in some way are treated interchangeably, it emphasizes in CDA with a particular interest in the relation between language and power. According to the author, it can be said that CL and CDA are highly concerned with analyzing structural relationships of power, equity and control manifested in language. It is stated that in discourse analysis CDA is based not only on spoken or written texts, it also requires going beyond texts, analyzing different issues like social processes and structure that gives rise to the production of a text and also the meaning that is created through interaction with texts. Different issues have been applied about the quality of classroom discourse in the las 20 th century, classrooms are no longer addressed as passive ones, or learning by heart activities, it is now focus on developing communication abilities, emphasizing learning by doing. It is said that teachers in the classrooms are in charge of developing higher order thinking     where the students can express, explain their reasoning and work cooperatively respecting other points of view but at the same time questioning about those. WHAT IS DISCOURSE ANALYSIS? Talking about discourse analysis there are different points of view depending on the perception of the people; the majority of them linguists. They found themselves involved in a variety of topics, sometimes the only thing these topics have in common is that they are related to language and their effects. According to Johnstone, B. (2008) Discourse analysis is the study of language in everyday sense in which most people use the term. When linguists talk about discourse analysis some of them see it as a mass noun: discourse, it means the way people speak of other things, on the other hand scholars influenced by Foucault, tend to use the word discourse as a count noun, taking this word as ideology or ways of thinking, at the end these two conceptions are much related.
